The Story of 'Pākehā Support Toitū te Tiriti'

Pākehā Support Toitū te Tiriti is a place Non-Māori can come to find information and support.

I'm a Pākehā mother of children who are Pākehā (Scottish/ Irish) and Māori (Ngāi Tahu).

I'm a counsellor, facilitator, author and programme developer.

I meet many non-Māori who are unhappy with the Governments actions. As a facilitator and counsellor I'm familiar with discussing the challenging thoughts and emotions that can come up.  My study of counselling and psychology led to me including tips and information about getting through the challenges of exploring our identity and role in Aotearoa.  It's been a decade's long journey and I've encountered many challenges along the way.  Almost all of my own making :0).

I've seen the tole it can take when Māori are expected to educate Non-Māori about issues of identity, justice and the treaty. This website aims to help Non-Māori to help each other so that we can better support Māori. This site is a product of the many Māori who have shared with and encouraged me over the years.

Be kind and keep going!

Anna
